4 Weeks Old

Piper is 4 weeks old today. It's crazy... it some ways it seems to have gone so fast, but in other ways... it seems like she has always been here. She is such an amazing person and we feel so lucky to have her in our lives!!!

We are hoping to remember to take a picture like this every month so we can watch her grow. This is Piper and her bestie Monkey or Monks.

Here is our little Piper Joon! We love her so much!!! She is amazing!!! She is the best baby in the world. We are so grateful to Kristen and Brian for their sacrifice to help give Piper a better life. If you are one of my friends following this blog, and if you would like to follow Piper's private blog, send me a message with your email and I'll add you to that private list of people who can see it.
Thanks!

We have been chosen for real this time!

We have been chosen by the most amazing birth mom named Kristen. She is so cute and so fun and so perfect for us and we love her so much already. We have really enjoyed getting to know her and her family. We are so excited that we get to "keep" them. :) We were really hoping that she would chose us and that we could have her be the birth mom of our baby. We couldn't ask for better people to welcome into our family.

She is having a baby girl. The due date is June 20th. We are so excited. We are planning on naming her Piper Joon. It is hard to believe that this is really going to happen for us. It is an answer to our prayers (a lot of prayers for a lot of years). We know that Heavenly Father will send the right baby at the right time. And this one feels so different than all of the others. It feels so right. And all of the waiting was worth it to be able to have Kristen and her family be in our life. :)

It was all a fraud

It turns out that our adoption story was all a fraud. She wasn't really pregnant. She was so good at lying. We still care for her, we just hope that she can get some help, and that she will never do this to anyone else ever again. We still aren't sure what she was hoping to get out of all of this. But we definitely have learned to be more careful. We are grateful that the "birthfather" tipped us off that he didn't believe her. It led us to find the proof we needed to pull out of this situation. We really, really, really are looking forward to when we will actually bring a baby into our home. We know it will be in the right time, with the right baby. We trust in Heavenly Father's plan for us.

We have been chosen!

We have been chosen for adoption by some pretty stinkin' amazing people! We love them so much!!! They are having a little boy that is due on June 10th. We can't wait! This is the most exciting thing ever for us. :)

Here is a picture of us with them. Yep that's right, cute Chandy is from India. How cool is that?!!! He is going to be so cute! By the way, this is Jonny and Chandy. Like I said, they are pretty amazing!

Waiting for you!

Gavin and I waiting for our baby someday. We wish it was already here with us!

Kauai 2012

Gavin and I went to Kauai with his family and it ended up that my sister Annie and her husband Robbie went to the same island at the same time. Crazy! We only overlapped for 3 days, but we did get together long enough to get a picture. We love you guys!

Basket

Yay for making an old basket new for our future baby's room. We like a more modern style, so it was fun to make a normal basket feel more modern. I'll have more pictures to come as we slowly do our nursery.

The final prom dress is finished!

This is Anna in her dress. It reminds me of a southern dress, maybe something that would be on Gone with the Wind or something like that. It looks great on her. I just wish you could see these all in person. Pictures are great, but they look so much better in person. I'm grateful for the opportunity I've had to design and sew for these 3 cute girls this year.

Prom dress number 2.

This is sweet Tia's dress. I love to see how each dress fits the personality of each girl. It is fun to see them get so excited about their dresses. I love designing and sewing. I'm so used to creating my own stuff, its fun to see the excitement in others when they get to see their dream dresses come to life.

I just finished 1 of the 3 prom dresses!

Here are some pictures of sweet Hannah's dress. She was so excited for her dress. I love sewing dresses for people! I know that the lighting isn't great because it was evening in my living room. But I will have more professional pictures coming in the spring.

Our update

So nothing is different in our lives. We have been hoping to get pregnant again since we miscarried 2 years ago. We want to start our family so badly. I've been doing fertility drugs for 6 months now, hoping that will help. So far, it hasn't. We've decided that if it doesn't happen this month, we will move forward with adoption. We met with LDS Family Services at the beginning of February. We are really praying that things will work out soon. So if you hear of anyone who is thinking of placing their baby for adoption, please keep us in mind. Well I guess a little has changed in my life lately. I am finally doing the job of my dreams. I'm designing and making 3 prom dresses for girls here in town. I'm having so much fun with it. I'll post pictures once I have them done. Well that's us for now.

I just took a better picture of the tree. It was hard to see with the light coming in the window. Fun stuff.

Our House at Christmas...

Every year Manti has a holiday home show. It is a fundraiser for different things each year. The past two years it has been for the city library. We were asked to be in it and I spent a lot of fun hours with my mother-in-law decorating our house. I couldn't have done it without her! Thanks Connie!!! So I took a ton of pictures so I could share it with you all. I hope you enjoy! Sorry there are tons of pictures. I just didn't want to miss anything!
From the front door.
A better view of the branch. I love the branch!
Our chain garland. It is so fun!!! And the chain was just $12 from the local hardware store. We just sprayed it with glue and added glitter. It's one of my favorite parts of the Christmas decor.
