Several changes today

#1-We got our garage door yesterday. We really like it. I think it fits the character of the house.

#2-I decided to have the back wall of my sewing room painted a deeper gray. It helps it glow a little less. I really like it. And it does help the room blend into the rest of the house a bit better. I still have the the fun blue/green color on the other walls. I think that my white Ikea light will look better against the gray and the trim on the window stands out really nice now.

#3-And...our railing is here!!! They are putting it up as we speak! I took a picture of them placing the railing on the stairs. I'm so excited to go later and see it all in place!!! I love the feel of the railing. It will tie in the slight industrial/contemporary look we are going for. I love watching it all come together!

Tile Prep

So we can now see where the tile will be. They have done all of the prep work for the tile. It's cool, but it will be much more exciting when we get to see the tile go in.

Our Barn Door!

So this is our fun barn door that will be the door from our bedroom into our bathroom/closet/laundry room. It will slide open on a track. I absolutely love it! The yellow is the exact color that we were thinking. I can't wait to see that go up!!!

Sewing room

Can you see the paint in the sewing room? I'll give you a hint. It's the room that glows! I thought it would be a bit more subtle. It will be nice when I've got all of the stuff in it, I'm hoping it will tame it down a bit. I think it will be really fun! Do you like the covered skylight that looks like a weird flower blob on the ceiling? How funny.

Paint!!!!!!!!

Today was a super exciting day! We got to see our paint colors!!!! Yep, I was an excited little girl doing my little happy dance when I saw it. I love the gray walls! They are perfect. And the blue wall in our room will be so fun, especially when the yellow barn door goes in! :)

Skylights!

These actually went in a while ago. I just forgot to post about it. We waited soooo long for them to go in. I'm surprised I forgot!

So these are the stairs going to the basement. Now you can see why I'm so excited for the new ones upstairs. I had to get a picture of these while I could, the new ones should be going in this week!

My closet is in!

So I'm super excited about my dream closet going up today! And they have started on the bunch in my mud room. I get way to excited about all of this stuff. Gavin has been teasing me about it all all day. =)

Yay Wood!!!!

So I'm so excited for this piece because it is the first thing in our house that is in it's final form! The sheetrock will still be painted along with the doors and trim (well, except the front door, I lied, but that still needs nobs and stuff). The floors will still be covered with flooring and all that stuff. But the wood, oh the wood, it will be seen just as it is now! It's our first real step to final things in the house. So I know this probably looks odd in the picture, but this is our mantel. That's all. We want it to be a bit more contemporary. And I feel like it is. So I hope you will enjoy this picture. I've been smiling for the last hour just thinking about it! I know, I'm a little weird. =)
