Sheetrock!!!

So in 2 days this week they hung all of the sheetrock. It stall has to be taped and mudded but it is up! It is pretty cool to see that step done. Now it is really looking like a house inside. They had guys there today getting set up to do stucco next week. So that will be pretty stinking cool too. They can't do the stone for a while because we have to wait for the front doors to come first.

Deer eating the yard!

So we have had deer in the yard for the last couple days eating all of my in-laws plants and trees. They say that there are about 40 deer living here in town. It is crazy, if you drive more than 2 blocks you will usually see at least 7 deer. And you can't do much to get them out of your yard, because they aren't scared of humans, or dogs for the most part for that matter.

We have insulation

We got insulation last week. They did a foam blown layer on all of the outer walls then did the bat on top of that. Now the house is a lot warmer.

Holy Snow!!!

We woke up this morning with a foot of snow!!! Ya, I went to workout yesterday in the rain, and green grass. This all came yesterday after 11:00 AM. And it is still snowing. It is supposed to snow all day today as well. We may just get snowed in! Hopefully the roads will be better on Friday for all of our guests coming for Christmas!

Yesterday

So we got our fireplace installed yesterday. And they have done more wiring. I took a picture of the columns in our main area and our cool skylights they will be putting in someday. They should have done it last Thursday when it was scheduled, now they are going to have to fight with snow.

Wow!!! Tons of stuff going on today!!!

So today we got windows in, electrical galore, and a front porch! It was so fun to see the windows go in so fast and to see the porch pop on all of the sudden. I took pictures a couple of times today. And you can see the porch all of the sudden in the last picture. I just can't take enough pictures.

Plumbing

The plumbing is moving right along. We got our bath tubs yesterday. And we have ordered our super fun fireplace. The least exciting things with plumbing are the toilets. But I am very happy that we have them. :)
I am excited for when I can show you the whole house. I'll have to do a video and pictures. You could do a virtual tour. That could be kind of fun! But for now, I'll keep up with the random little steps along the way. I guess if I wanted to I could do a video walk through of it right now, hmmm, I'll have to think about that.

Here's the Heating

I'm sure glad that I don't have to get up on a ladder and put heat ducts in a 23 foot ceiling! Those poor guys. I really hope no one gets hurt in our super tall house.
We are excited that we will have air returns up in the peak of the ceiling. All of the heat will be up there so we may as well reuse the heat!

Lighting and Electrical are going in!

My Sewing Room

This is my oh so exciting sewing room. It has a little closet that juts out over the panty below. That is for my dress forms. I can't believe I am actually getting a nice, bright sewing room on the second floor!!! I had originally planned it for the basement. But then we added that room. So I moved upstairs and now Gavin's gym will get a nice big room downstairs in the cooler basement. We both are lucky enough to get a hobby room.

Here is the kid's room and the bathroom

Here is the front loft framed in

Oh ya, the roof is on!

New Things

Sorry I haven't posted for a bit. Most of the changes are happening inside. I figured I would post the few new pictures I have and then I'll try to get some more new fun pictures later today.
So this is a picture of the outside once they framed the front in. The windows still aren't cut out, so now it looks like the old church here in Manti, but that will change tomorrow when the windows go in.
I have a sad picture of our front stairs, I tried to take a picture at night and this was the best I could do. And they have the steps covered right now, so I can't get a better picture yet. The framers will be back tomorrow so I should have more to show then.
And the last picture is the stone that will be on part of our house. We found it on a random house and took a picture. I love it. It will go nicely with our blue, yellow, brown, hints of gray house. Yep it will be pretty exciting and WAY different from other houses here in Manti. Just like us, we are different. :)
